Renal Cyst

What is Renal cyst?

Renal cyst is considered as benign in nature, however, it can be classified into different grades depending whether there is wall thickening or calcification within the wall of the cyst.

If the cyst is small and not symptomatic, then it can be watched yearly or 2 yearly for the progression. If the cyst is more than 5 cm especially if it is expanding within a short time and causing symptoms, then the cyst should be removed and send for the histology. Usually when the cyst is big is benign and large, then the cyst can be “deroofed” in the minimal invasive way with stay of less than 2 days. Our urologist will determine further on other investigations requirements such as:

  • physical examinations
  • laboratory test
  • radiology test
