Overactive Bladder
It is an abnormal urge to urinate. Hence, our urologist will further check to ensure that there isn't any infection or blood in your urine or empty of your bladder completely when you urinate or even other contributing factors. Further investigations may be:
Medical history
Physical exam, focusing on your abdomen and genitals
Urine sample to test for infection, traces of blood or other abnormalities
Focused neurological exam that may identify sensory problems or abnormal reflexes
Procedures and treatment may not limit to the following:
Tests to determine bladder function such as:-
Postvoid residual urine (via bladder scanning)
Measurement of urine flow (via uroflow meter)
Urine test strip or laboratory test
Treatment to help manage the overactive bladder such as:
Pelvic floor exercise
Maintain a healthy weight
Scheduled toileting
Intermittent catherization
Bladder training
Use of absorbant pads
Medications prescribed by our urologist
